Well, what a day it proved to be for The Yeltz. Not many believed at the beginning of the season that the Yeltz would be lifting the league title, but after 90 minutes in Belper, Halesowen wandered back onto the pitch to claim the Evo-Stik Division One South Title.  Both teams had won their previous eight games and the contest also brought Haseley head-to-head with the league's other leading marksman Jon Froggatt.

Halesowen’s pre-season preparations ended on a high after midfielder Chris Lait struck a glorious second-half winner against Skrill North Leamington.  The visitors enjoyed the better of early play with Ricky Johnson nodding wide at the far post and Stefan Moore forcing a fingertip save from Paul Evans within the first ten minutes. Stephan Morley then struck a long range thunderbolt free-kick just past the home post in the 17th minute with the Leamington line-up laced with a host of former Yeltz players as well as a former manager.

A Kyle Brady hat-trick and a Jason Wellings strike was enough for Halesowen to earn them their first pre season victory of the 2013/14 season.  AFC struck first when Craig Gregg found the net after good work from Andy Thompson before Kyle Brady levelled from the penalty spot.  Brad Lawley the headed AFC back in front to give them a 2-1 lead at the half time interval.  After numerous changes in the second half, the Yeltz struck level through Jason Wellings before Brady added two more to complete his hat-trick.
