03 May 2003 DMP Halesowen Town 3-2 Chippenham Town PDF Print E-mail

Dr Martens Premier Division – Saturday, 3rd May, 2003

Halesowen Town 3 Chippenham Town 2

James Bittner produced a solid performance in the Chippenham goal, handled well and could not be faulted for any of the goals. He produced several key saves in the second period and reacted well to save a header from Andy Spencer in the 62nd minute and a shot from Mark Danks seven minutes later.

The 24th minute brawl involving 20 players after Mark Badman hit Neil Gibson in the face with the ball turned a dull start into a lively affair. The resulting free-kick led directly to Chippenham’s opening goal and finally perked up a lack-lustre home side. Mark Badman was lucky to escape completely unpunished from the event.
